Made a Budget But Can’t Stick to It? Here’s How to Stay on Track

So making a budget is one thing, sticking to it is another! Here are our top tips to help you stick to the plan and stay on track ✅
1️⃣ Make sure your budget is realistic
Too many times, we see people creating strict budgets with the promise of adhering to them, only to completely blow it and feel disheartened. Once you sit down and get to know your numbers, you can create a tailored and realistic budget that could be adjusted every month to fit around your life.
2️⃣ Skip the impulse purchases
If only it was that easy, right!? Impulse buying is one of the biggest reasons we fail to stick to our budgets, so it’s a must avoid! The two best ways to stop impulse purchases are to use the 48 hour rule (write down what you want and wait 48 hours for the dopamine to wear off) and to create a separate sinking fund in your budget dedicated to spur of the moment buys.
3️⃣ Track your spending
Tracking your spending is a sure fire way to help you stick to your budget AND manage your spending habits. Tend to get easily distracted in the supermarket? Up late ordering clothes? Tracking your spending will help bring all those sneaky spending habits to light. There’s no escape here!
4️⃣ Get an accountability buddy
There’s no secret that the Financielle community is on FIRE right now! There are people achieving their big money goals, ditching debt, creating realistic budgets and building great money habits. If you’re looking for some accountability, drop a post into the community and we’ll be there to help you out 🫶
